About Stemetil Injection:

Stemetil Injection is an anti-psychotic medication indicated for the treatment of nausea & vomiting, schizophrenia, and acute mania.

Each mL Stemetil Injection contains Prochlorperazine Mesylate 12.5mg/ml.

Prochlorperazine is an antipsychotic class of medication. It influences the activity of certain brain cells by decreasing the effect of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain. It also depresses the release of hypothalamic and hypophyseal hormones, thus affecting basal metabolism, body temperature, wakefulness, vasomotor tone, and emesis.

Use of Stemetil Injection:

Stemetil Injection contains a medicine called prochlorperazine. This belongs to a group of medicines called phenothiazine antipsychotics. It works by blocking the effects of a chemical in the brain. Stemetil Injection can be used to:

• Stop nausea and vomiting.
• Treat schizophrenia.
• Treat overactive behavior or thoughts (mania).

Usage Direction of Stemetil Injection:

• Stemetil Injection is intended for Intramuscular Injection only.
• The Physician will advise the right dose & direction of administration as per the patient’s condition.
• Self-administration is strictly prohibited.

Precaution & Related information of Stemetil Injection:

Precaution and physician’s consultation should be taken during the following conditions-

• If hypersensitive or allergic to Stemetil Injection.
• If found any other complications.
• Concomitant administration of this injection with any other medicines or supplements.
• If patient have heart problems or ever had a stroke.
• If patient have liver or kidney problems, diabetes, thyroid problems, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, epilepsy or have ever had fits (Seizures) and low number of white blood cells (agranulocytosis).
• If patient is child, adolescent or elderly (65 years of age or older).
• During driving or operating machinery, as Stemetil Injection may cause dizziness.
• Simultaneous ingestion of alcohol should not be advisable.
• Discoloured solution should not be used.
• Do not use, if any particle or suspended matter is visible.
• Consult with the physician during pregnancy & lactation.
• Keep out of the reach of children.

Storage condition of Stemetil Injection:

• Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light.
