About Singulair 10 mg Tablet:

Each Film Coated Singulair 10 mg tablet contains Montelukast Sodium equivalent to Montelukast 10 mg and Excipients q.s.

Singulair 10 mg is a leukotriene inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals that the body releases when an allergen (such as pollen) was breathed in. These chemicals cause swelling in the lungs and tightening of the muscles around the airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair 10 mg binds with high affinity to the cysteinyl leukotriene type-1 (CysLT1) receptor and inhibits physiologic actions of LTD4 at the CysLT1 receptor without any agonist activity. Therefore, it acts as a leukotriene receptor antagonist.
