Cipladine is a water-soluble microbicidal ointment effective against bacteria, including spores, fungi, yeasts, protozoa and viruses.
Cipladine Ointment contains Povidone-Iodine 5% w/w (available Iodine 0.5% w/w) and Water soluble ointment base q.s.
Povidone iodine is called iodophore which means it is a carrier of iodine. Iodine is considered as the active molecule that penetrates the cell wall and causes protein denaturation, precipitation of bacteria and further resulting in the death of pathogenic microorganisms.
