Use of Zuvicella Vaccine:

Zuvicella Vaccine is prescribed for active immunization against Varicella virus infection in adults and infants in the age group of 12 months and above.

Usage Direction of Zuvicella Vaccine:

  • Zuvicella Vaccine is intended for subcutaneous use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
  • Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
  • Do not use more than the prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related information of Zuvicella Vaccine:

  • If hypersensitive or allergic to Zuvicella Vaccine, inform the physician immediately.
  • If found any other complications, inform the physician immediately.
  • Reconstitution with 0.6 ml of SWFI (Sterile Water for Injections). After reconstitution uses the clear solution within 30 minutes.
  • After reconstitution, do not use in case any foreign particulate matter is observed inside the vial.
  • Any unused portion must be discarded.
  • Pregnant women should not be vaccinated with Zuvicella. Women who intend to become pregnant should be advised to delay conception. Pregnancy should be avoided for 1 month following vaccination.
  • Consult with the physician during lactation.
  • Zuvicella Vaccine should not be given for at least 5 months following plasma or blood transfusions (except washed RBCs) and administration of immunoglobulin or varicella-zoster immune globulin since they may neutralize the vaccine.
  • IgG and Varicella immune globulin should not be administered for 3 weeks after the vaccination unless the benefits exceed those of vaccination.
  • This vaccine may be administered to persons with minor illnesses such as diarrhea, mild upper respiratory tract infection, with or without low-grade fever, or other illnesses with low-grade fever; it is contraindicated in persons with an illness associated with moderate or severe fever. They may be vaccinated after recovery from the acute phase of illness.
  • An association is known to exist between wild varicella-zoster infection, salicylates, and Reye’s syndrome. To avoid such a possibility, one should avoid using salicylates in the subjects administered varicella vaccine for 6 weeks.
  • In children requiring aspirin therapy, vaccination with close dosage monitoring may be considered because the complications arising out of natural varicella disease in patients on aspirin therapy are more severe than those seen in children who are vaccinated with attenuated varicella vaccine (when on aspirin therapy).
  • Do not accept if the vial seal is broken.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Zuvicella Vaccine:
