About Zocef Dry Syrup:
Zocef Dry Syrup is an antibiotic, used for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infection.
Each 5 ml (One teaspoonful) of reconstituted suspension contains Cefuroxime Axetil equivalent to Cefuroxime 125 mg and Excipients q.s.
Cefuroxime is a beta-lactam antibiotic, which inhibits bacterial cell wall biosynthesis by binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), thus arresting cell wall assembly resulting in bacterial cell death.
Use of Zocef Dry Syrup:
Zocef Dry Syrup is prescribed for the treatment of many different types of bacterial infections such as bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, ear infections, gonorrhea, urinary tract infections, skin & soft tissue infections, etc.
Usage direction of Zocef Dry Syrup:
- Zocef Dry Syrup is intended for oral use only.
- Please check the package leaflet or label instruction before administration.
- Zocef Dry Syrup should be reconstituted with sterile water for injection supplied in the package.
- The medicine should be taken after food for optimum absorption.
- For children the dose may be added to fruit juice or milk just before use.
- Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
- Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.
Direction for reconstitution and dosing:
- Shake the bottle well to loosen the powder.
- Open the seal of the bottle.
- Cut open the ampoule of water given with the pack.
- Take water from the ampoule into the measuring cup and fill up to the mark (shown on the cap).
- Add the measured water into the bottle.
- Shake the bottle well to mix the contents properly.
- Now give the medicine with the dosage cup to the child as directed by the physician.
- Reconstituted suspension should be stored in refrigerator and used within 10 days.
Precaution & Related information of Zocef Dry Syrup:
- For paediatric use only.
- If allergic to this medicine, inform the physician immediately.
- If find any other complication inform the physician immediately.
- Sterile water not to be used, if ampoule is found leaking or solution is not clear.
- Keep out of reach of children.
