Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Zaha Eye Drop:

1. What are the uses of Zaha Eye Drop?

Zaha Eye Drop is a macrolide antibiotic prescribed for the treatment of mild to moderate infections caused by bacteria. It helps fight infections in different parts of the body such as the ears, lungs, throat, sinuses, skin, and reproductive organs. It is also used to treat some sexually transmitted infections. Zaha Eye Drop works by stopping the growth of bacteria or killing them, helping the body recover from the infection.

2. Can Zaha Eye Drop be used for viral infections?

No, Zaha Eye Drop is an antibiotic medicine and is effective only against bacterial infections, not viral infections. It works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing bacteria. It will not work for the common cold, flu, or other viral infections. For viral infections, antiviral medications should be required. Always seek advice from a healthcare provider for the correct treatment based on the type of infection. Do not self-medicate.

3. Why is it important to complete the course of the antibiotic Zaha Eye Drop?

Depending on your condition, the treatment should last 3-10 days. It is essential to complete the full course of Zaha Eye Drop, even if you start to feel better, for several important reasons:

Stopping the medication in between treatments may leave some bacteria alive, and those bacteria may multiply, causing the infection to return.

Incomplete courses of Zaha Eye Drop prematurely can lead to the development of bacterial-resistant infections, which are harder to treat and can spread easily.

Completing the full course of Zaha Eye Drop ensures all harmful bacteria are killed, preventing stronger strains from developing.

4. How does Zaha Eye Drop work to treat bacterial infections?

Zaha Eye Drop has azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic that treats bacterial infections. It works by stopping bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow and survive. This helps stop the infection from spreading and allows the immune system to clear it. Azithromycin usually stops bacteria from growing (bacteriostatic), but in higher doses, it can kill the bacteria directly (bactericidal).

5. Is Zaha Eye Drop safe to use during pregnancy?

Zaha Eye Drop is usually considered safe for use during pregnancy when prescribed by a doctor. The FDA classifies it as a Category B medication, indicating that animal studies have not shown harm to the fetus, although there are limited studies involving pregnant women. It is important to consult your doctor before using any medication during pregnancy to ensure it is suitable for your specific situation.

6. Can I take Zaha Eye Drop together with other medications?

Before taking Zaha Eye Drop, it is important to consult your doctor if you are taking other medications, such as antacids containing aluminium hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide, cholesterol-lowering medicine (e.g., Statins), blood thinners (e.g., Warfarin), etc. Be sure to inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking to ensure safety and avoid potential interactions.

7. What is the recommended daily dosage for Zaha Eye Drop?

The dose of Zaha Eye Drop depends on how serious your infection is and should be taken exactly as your doctor prescribes. Always follow your doctor’s directions to make sure the medicine works properly to treat your infection.
