Xylocaine 5% ointment is a local anesthetic class of medication intended for topical use only. It works by making the pain nerves unable to pass messages to the brain.
Composition:
Lidocaine 5% w/w, ointment base q.s.
Use of Xylocaine 5% Ointment:
Xylocaine 5% ointment contains Lidocaine as active ingredient, which is used:
- To provide temporary relief of pain and/or itching due to minor burns, non-blistered sunburn, insect bites and sore nipples.
- To help prevent pain and discomfort and to act as a lubricant during certain medical procedures and tests performed by a doctor.
- To help relieve pain of some conditions of the back passage such as haemorrhoids (piles) or fissures.
- In dentistry to help prevent pain during scaling or injection and when fitting dentures.
Usage direction of Xylocaine 5% Ointment:
- Xylocaine 5% Ointment is for external use only, in a dose and direction as advised by the physician.
- Replace cap tightly after use.
- Before application, always go through the leaflet or label instructions that come with the product.
