About Xamic MF Tablet:

Xamic MF Tablet is a combination medication, indicated to treat painful menstruation and heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding in women.

Each film-coated Xamic MF Tablet contains Tranexamic Acid 500 mg and Mefenamic Acid 250 mg.

Tranexamic Acid belongs to a class of antifibrinolytic medicines. It prevents excessive blood loss by inhibiting the breakdown of blood clots.

Mefenamic Acid belongs to a non-steroidal antiinflammatory class of medication and exerts analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. By inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, it blocks the synthesis of prostaglandin, a chemical that is responsible for causing pain and inflammation.    

Use of Xamic MF Tablet:

Xamic MF Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhoea (painful menstruation) and pain associated with menorrhagia (heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding) in women.

Usage Direction of Xamic MF Tablet:

  • Xamic MF Tablet is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
  • Xamic MF Tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
  • Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
  • Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related information of Xamic MF Tablet:

  • Do not take Xamic MF Tablet if patients are allergic to Tranexamic acid or Mefenamic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (aspirin, ibuprofen) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
  • Consult with the physician if patients have blood in urine, have ever had any uncontrollable bleeding, or have disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), a disease where the blood starts to clot throughout the body.
  • Inform the physician if patients have been taking medicine to treat a hereditary disease called angioneurotic oedema (HANO) every day for a long time. If so, the patient may need to have regular eye tests and blood tests to check liver is working properly.
  • Do not take Xamic MF Tablet if patients have or had a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation or ulcer, related to previous NSAIDs therapy.
  • Consult with the physician if patients are a woman with irregular periods, patients are attempting to conceive or undergoing investigation for infertility, or patients have a history of blood clots in blood vessels.
  • Consult with the physician if patients have kidney, heart, or liver disease.
  • Inform the physician if patients have frequent or daily headaches despite (or because of) the regular use of headache medications.
  • Consult with the physician if patients are suffering from or have a history of bronchial asthma.
  • Inform the physician if patients have diseases that cause inflammation of connective tissues, Steven Johnson Syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis.
  • If found any other complications, inform the physician immediately.
  • The physician should be aware of the concomitant use of Xamic MF Tablet with any other medication.
  • If patients are pregnant or breastfeeding or think may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, consult with a physician for advice before taking this medicine.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Xamic MF Tablet:

Store in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light.
