About Topcort  Cream :

Topcort cream is a medium potency corticosteroid indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. Topcort cream contains Mometasone Furoate, IP 0.1% w/w, in a cream base q.s. The active ingredient is Mometasone Furoate 0.1%.

Use of Topcort  Cream :

  • Topcort cream contains the active ingredient Mometasone Furoate, is a corticosteroid which has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive properties.

Usage direction of Topcort Cream :

  • Topcort  cream should be applied topically as per doctor’s advice. Doctor will decide the right amount and the duration of use as per the patient condition.
  • Apply a thin film of Topcort cream to the affected skin areas .
  • As with other corticosteroids, therapy should be discontinued when control is achieved.
  • If no improvement is seen within 2 weeks, reassessment of diagnosis may be necessary.

 Precaution & Related Information of Topcort  Cream :

  • Do not use Topcort cream if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients in the product. If irritation develops, Topcort cream should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.
  • The cream is for external use only. In case of use on the face, avoid contact with the eyes. In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with running water.
  • Topcort cream may be used in paediatric patients, 2 years of age or older.
  • Safety and efficacy of Mometasone Furoate cream in paediatric patients for more than 3 weeks of use have not been established.
  • Topcort cream should not be used with occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician. Topcort cream should not be applied in the diaper area if the child still requires diapers or plastic pants as these garments may constitute occlusive dressing.
  • Pregnancy and Lactation: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of teratogenic effects from topically applied corticosteroids in pregnant women. Therefore, topical corticosteroids should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus. Caution should be exercised when Topcort cream / ointment is administered to a nursing mother.
  • Store in a cool place. Protect from light.
