About Thyronorm 12.5 mcg Tablet:

Each uncoated Thyronorm 12.5 mcg tablet contains Thyroxine sodium equivalent to anhydrous Thyroxine sodium 12.5mcg (Synthetic Thyroid Hormone) and Excipients q.s.

Thyronorm 12.5 mcg tablet contains the active substance Thyroxine. Thyroxine is a hormone which is produced naturally in the body by the thyroid gland. Levothyroxine is a synthetic version of this hormone. Thyroxine controls how much energy your body uses, when the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroxine for the body’s need.

Use of Thyronorm 12.5 mcg Tablet:

Thyronorm 12.5 mcg tablet is indicated as a replacement therapy in primary (thyroidal), secondary (pituitary) and tertiary (hypothalamic) congenital or acquired hypothyroidism.

It is also used in the treatment and prevention of thyroid cancer and diffuse non-toxic goiter or Hashimoto thyroiditis, conditions in which the thyroid gland becomes enlarged causing swelling in the front of neck.

Usage direction of Thyronorm 12.5 mcg Tablet:

  • Thyronorm 12.5 mcg tablet should be taken orally.
  • Thyronorm 12.5 mcg tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
  • Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
  • Replace the lid tightly after use.
  • Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related information of Thyronorm 12.5 mcg Tablet:

  • Silica gel provided in the bottle is not for consumption.
  • If allergic to this medicine, inform the physician immediately.
  • If find any other complication inform the physician immediately.
  • Consult with the physician during pregnancy & lactation.
  • Keep away from children.

Storage Condition of Thyronorm 12.5 mcg Tablet:

  • Store at a temperature not ecxceeding 25°C in a dry place, protected from light.

Special warnings of Thyronorm 12.5 mcg tablet with food and drink:

Consumption of soybean flour (infant formula), cotton seed meal, walnuts and dietary fiber may bind and decrease the absorption of levothyroxine sodium from the gastrointestinal tract.

Calcium, calcium-fortified orange juice and grape fruit juice may delay the absorption of levothyroxine and reduce its bioavailability
