About Singulair 5 mg Tablet:

Each chewable Singulair 5 mg tablet contains 5.2 mg of montelukast sodium equivalent to 5.0 mg of free acid and Excipients q.s.

Singulair 5 mg is a leukotriene inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals that the body releases when an allergen (such as pollen) was breathed in. These chemicals cause swelling in the lungs and tightening of the muscles around the airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair 5 mg binds with high affinity to the cysteinyl leukotriene type-1 (CysLT1) receptor and inhibits physiologic actions of LTD4 at the CysLT1 receptor without any agonist activity. Therefore, it acts as a leukotriene receptor antagonist.

Use of Singulair 5 mg Tablet:

Singulair 5 mg tablet is prescribed for the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma, to prevent exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, and to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis.

Usage direction of Singulair 5 mg Tablet:

• Singulair 5 mg tablet should be taken orally.
• Singulair 5 mg tablet should be chewed.
• Do not swallow whole.
• Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
• Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

• If allergic to this medicine, inform the physician immediately.
