About Seretide 50 mcg/500 mcg Accuhaler:
Seretide 50 mcg/500 mcg accuhaler are used to manage asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Each blister of Seretide 50 mcg/500 mcg accuhaler contains powder for inhalation providing Salmeterol Xinafoate equivalent to 50 mcg of Salmeterol and 500 mcg Fluticasone Propionate.
Salmeterol is an agonist of beta2-adrenergic receptors (found predominantly in bronchial smooth muscle). Beta-2 adrenoceptor stimulation causes relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle, bronchodilation, and increased airflow.
Fluticasone propionate is a synthetic, trifluorinated glucocorticoid with potent anti-inflammatory activity. It exerts its beneficial effects by inhibiting several types of cells and mediators involved in allergic, immune, and inflammatory responses.
Use of Seretide 50 mcg/500 mcg Accuhaler:
Seretide 50 mcg/500 mcg accuhaler are indicated in the regular treatment of asthma, where the use of a combination (long-acting beta2-agonist and inhaled corticosteroid) has been found to be appropriate, and in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Usage direction of Seretide 50 mcg/500 mcg Accuhaler:
• Seretide 50 mcg/500 mcg accuhaler is intended for oral inhalation only.
• Before using Seretide 50 mcg/500 mcg accuhaler, know the administration process properly from the enclosed leaflet.
• Close the mouthpiece cover immediately after every inhalation.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• Do not discontinue without physician’s advice.
