About Sabmet VG 2 mg Tablet:

Sabmet VG 2 mg Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic medicines, indicated to manage type-2 diabetes mellitus.

Each uncoated bilayered Sabmet VG 2 mg Tablet contains Glimepiride 2 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride (As sustained-release) 500 mg and Voglibose 0.2 mg.

Glimepiride belongs to a class of antidiabetic medicines. It lowers blood glucose levels by stimulating the secretion of insulin from the pancreatic cells.

Metformin belongs to a class of antidiabetic medicines. It lowers blood glucose levels by reducing hepatic (liver) glucose production, decreasing the intestinal absorption of glucose, and increasing insulin sensitivity in the body.

Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor. It lowers the blood glucose levels by inhibiting the action of certain intestinal enzymes, alpha-glucosidase, responsible for the digestion of complex carbohydrates into simple sugars such as glucose.
