• Protochek Capsule Overview:

Protochek Capsule is used for the treatment of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), indigestion, and gastritis in which stomach acid flows back into the food pipe, leading to heartburn and possible esophageal injury. Protochek Capsule is composed of two main ingredients; Pantoprazole and Domperidone, is used in patients in which pantoprazole alone cannot control acid reflux. Pantoprazole reduces stomach acid production, while Domperidone helps improve stomach movement and prevents nausea. Together, they effectively manage acid reflux, heartburn, stomach pain, peptic ulcers, and other symptoms caused by hyper-acidity.

Composition of Protochek Capsule:

Each hard gelatin Protochek capsule contains: Pantoprazole Sodium (as Pantoprazole Sodium Sesquihydrate) equivalent to Pantoprazole 40 mg (as Gastro-resistant pellets), Domperidone 30 mg (as Prolonged-release pellets) and Excipients q.s.

Colours: Lake of Indigo Carmine, Ferric Oxide (Red), Ferric Oxide (Yellow) & Titanium Dioxide.

Approved colours (Brilliant Blue, Erythrosine, Quinoline Yellow, Titanium Dioxide) used in capsule shell.

• How Protochek Capsule Works:

Protochek should be avoided in patients with a prolactin-releasing pituitary tumor (prolactinoma), gastrointestinal problems, severe liver disease, stomach or intestinal bleeding, heart failure, or abnormal levels of potassium or magnesium in the blood.

Before starting Protochek Capsule, inform your doctor if you have jaundice, severe liver or kidney problems, or if you are at risk of low vitamin B12 levels and are receiving long-term treatment with pantoprazole. Also, let your doctor know if you have a history of gastric ulcers or gastrointestinal surgery, or if you are taking HIV protease inhibitors like atazanavir. Additionally, notify your doctor if you have been on pantoprazole for more than 3 months or if you have experienced any skin reactions in the past.
