About Prelo 2.5 mg Tablet:

Prelo 2.5 mg tablet is a calcium antagonist, used for the treatment of hypertension.

Each uncoated Prelo 2.5 mg tablet contains Amlodipine Besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 2.5 mg and Excipients q.s.

Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine Ca-channel blocker, is considered a peripheral arterial vasodilator that exerts its action directly on vascular smooth muscle to lead to a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, causing a decrease in blood pressure.

Use of Prelo 2.5 mg Tablet:

Prelo 2.5 mg tablet is prescribed for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and myocardial ischemia associated with angina pectoris.

Usage direction of Prelo 2.5 mg Tablet:

  • Prelo 2.5 mg tablet should be taken orally.
  • Prelo 2.5 mg tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
  • Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
  • Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

During this medication, grapefruit juice and grapefruit should not be consumed. This is because grapefruit and grapefruit juice can lead to an increase in the blood levels of the active ingredients amlodipine, which can cause an unpredictable increase in the blood pressure lowering effect of amlodipine.

Store in a cool, dry and dark place.
