About P 40 D Tablet:

P 40 D Tablet is a combination medicine indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux and gastric ulcer disease.

Each enteric-coated P 40 D Tablet contains Pantoprazole Sodium (as sesquihydrate) equivalent to Pantoprazole 40mg and Domperidone 10mg.

Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), which exerts its stomach acid-suppressing effects by blocking the final step of gastric acid secretion. These help in relieving symptoms associated with acid reflux.

Domperidone works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical in the brain which causes the feeling of nausea and vomiting. It also works by increasing the movement of food through the stomach and the digestive tract more quickly and, in this way, reduces the feeling of bloating or fullness and indigestion.

P 40 D Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of:

  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
  • Excessive acidic conditions of the stomach, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
  • Damaged esophagus, which is caused by stomach acid (Erosive esophagitis).
  • Gastric ulcer, which is either caused by helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection or induced by drugs.

It also helps to relieve the symptoms of nausea & vomiting, indigestion, heartburn, epigastric fullness, stomach pain, and upper abdominal discomfort.
