About Optiviral Eye Ointment:

Optiviral eye ointment contains Aciclovir 3% w/w, in an Ointment base q.s.

Aciclovir is an antiviral agent which is highly active in vitro against herpes simplex (HSV) types I and II.

Use of Optiviral Eye Ointment:

Optiviral eye ointment contains Aciclovir as an active ingredient which is a synthetic acyclic purine nucleoside analogue. It is indicated for the treatment of herpes simplex keratitis (an eye infections caused by herpes simplex virus).

It works by preventing the multiplication of the virus on the surface of the eyeball (cornea). This stops the production of new viruses and clears up the eye infection.

Usage direction of Optiviral Eye Ointment:

• Optiviral eye ointment is intended for topical ophthalmic use only.
• Unscrew white cap & discard spacing ring.
• Refit white cap firmly down to puncture the diaphragm.
• Remove small cap & squeeze tube for use.
• Use within one month after opening the tube.
• Please check the package leaflet or label instruction before use.
  
• Do not skip or stop the eye drop without physician’s advice.
• Do not apply more than the prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related Information of Optiviral Eye Ointment:

• If allergic to this medicine inform the physician immediately.
• If find any other complication inform the physician immediately.
• If irritation persists or increases discontinue the use and consult the physician.
• Please consult with the physician during pregnancy or lactation.
• Replace the cap tightly after use.
• Sterile until opened. Do not touch the nozzle tip to any surface. Since this may contaminate the ointment.
• Store in a cool & dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Do not freeze.
• Keep out of reach of children.
