About Ocuvir Eye Ointment:

Ocuvir eye ointment contains Aciclovir 3% w/w, Benzalkonium Chloride 0.01% w/w (as preservative) in an Ointment base q.s.

Aciclovir is an antiviral agent which is highly active in vitro against herpes simplex (HSV) types I and II.

Use of Ocuvir Eye Ointment:

Ocuvir eye ointment contains Aciclovir as an active ingredient which is a synthetic acyclic purine nucleoside analogue. It is indicated for the treatment of herpes simplex keratitis (an eye infections caused by herpes simplex virus).

It works by preventing the multiplication of the virus on the surface of the eyeball (cornea). This stops the production of new viruses and clears up the eye infection.

Usage direction of Ocuvir Eye Ointment:

• Ocuvir eye ointment is intended for topical ophthalmic use only.
• Use within one month after opening the tube.
• Please check the package leaflet or label instruction before use.
  
• Do not skip or stop the eye drop without physician’s advice.
• Do not apply more than the prescribed quantity.
• Tighten the cap immediately after every use.

• If allergic to this medicine inform the physician immediately.
• If find any other complication inform the physician immediately.
• If irritation persists or increases discontinue the use & consult with physician.
• Please consult with physician during pregnancy & lactation.
• Store well closed at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
• Keep out of reach of children.
