About Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection :

Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection is a unique mixture of both fast-acting insulin and long-acting insulin. Each ml suspension of Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection contains Human Insulin 100 IU (30% as soluble insulin and 70% as isophane insulin), Metacresol USP 1.5mg and Phenol IP 0.065 mg (as preservative) and Water for injection IP q.s.and excipients q.s.

Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection is a dual-acting human insulin used to treat diabetes. 1 ml of suspension contains 100 international units of soluble insulin and isophane (NPH) insulin in the ratio of 30/70 (equivalent to 3.5 mg).

Use of Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection :

Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection is indicated for patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection may be used for Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes.

Usage Direction of Mixtard 30 HM Penfill :

• Doctor will advise the right dose & duration of administration of Mixtard 30 HM Penfill  100 IU Injection as per the patient’s condition.
• Generally Mixtard 30 HM Penfill  100 IU Injection is administered subcutaneously into the thigh, upper arm or abdomen.
• Rotate the injection site to reduce risk of lipodystophy and localized cutaneous amyloidosis.
• Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection is designed to be used with Novo Nordisk insulin delivery systems and Novo Fine disposable needles.
• Do not use your Penfill if any damage is seen or if there is a gap between the plunger and the white label band.
• For proper usage direction please follow the instructions of the package insert.

Precaution & Related Information of Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection :

• Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection should not be shared between patients, even if the needles are changed.
• If patient is on any other medications or facing any complication during usage please inform your physician or health care provider.
• Please take precautions during the use of the Mixtard 30 HM Penfill  100 IU Injection in case of hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia.
• Pregnancy & lactation: During pregnancy & lactation please consult with your physician. Study shows there are no restrictions on treatment of diabetes with insulin during pregnancy, as insulin does not pass the placental barrier. There is no restriction on treatment with Mixtard 30 HM Penfill 100 IU Injection during breast-feeding. Insulin treatment of the nursing mother presents no risk to the baby.
• Keep the cartridge in the outer carton in order to protect from light.
• Before opening: Store in a refrigerator (2°C – 8°C). Do not freeze.
• During use or when carried as a spare: Store below 30°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
