About Minirin Melt 60 mcg Tablet:
Minirin Melt 60 mcg Tablet is a synthetic form of natural antidiuretic hormone (Vasopressin), which is prescribed for the treatment of diabetes insipidus, a condition that causes extreme thirst and the production of large volumes of dilute urine.
Each uncoated Minirin Melt 60 mcg Tablet contains Desmopressin acetate equivalent to Desmopressin (free base) 60 mcg.
Desmopressin is a class of medications called antidiuretic hormones. It works by replacing vasopressin, a hormone that is normally produced in the body to help balance the amount of water and salt.
Desmopressin increases water permeability resulting in reduced urine volume and enhanced urine osmolality.
