Sitagliptin 100mg + Metformin Hydrochloride 1000mg

About Janumet XR CP CO Pack Tablet:

Janumet XR CP CO Pack tablet is a combination of two anti-diabetic medications, used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Each Strip contains:
(A) Sitagliptin Phosphate tablets- Each film coated tablet contains Sitagliptin Phosphate Monohydrate Equivalent to Sitagliptin 100 mg and Excipients q.s.
(B) Metformin Hydrochloride sustained release tablets- Each uncoated tablet contains Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg and Excipients q.s.

Sitagliptin selectively inhibits the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) enzyme that rapidly truncates and inactivates incretin hormones such as glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). Incretin hormones increase insulin synthesis and decrease glucagon release in a manner dependent on glucose concentrations. These effects lead to an overall increase in blood glucose control.

Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycaemic agent which improves glucose tolerance by lowering both basal and postprandial plasma glucose. It decreases hepatic glucose production, delays intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity by enhancing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.

Use of Janumet XR CP CO Pack Tablet:

Janumet XR CP CO Pack tablet is prescribed for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps control high blood glucose levels.

Usage Direction of Janumet XR CP CO Pack Tablet:

  • Janumet XR CP CO Pack tablet is intended for oral use only in a dose and direction as advised by the physician.
  • Janumet XR CP CO Pack tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
  • Metformin Hydrochloride sustained-release tablets- Do not break, crush or chew before swallowing.
  • Do not skip or stop the medicine without physician's advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.
