About Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection:

Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection is a chemotherapeutic agent used in the treatment of different types of cancer.

Each ml contains Paclitaxel 6 mg, Polyoxyl 35 Castor Oil USNF 527 mg, and Dehydrated Alcohol 49.7% v/v.

Paclitaxel is a novel antimicrotubule agent used to treat cancer. Unlike other tubulin-binding anticancer drugs, which prevent the assembly of tubulin into microtubules, paclitaxel promotes the assembly of tubulin into microtubules and prevents the dissociation of microtubules, blocking cell cycle progression, preventing mitosis, and inhibiting the growth of cancer cells.

Use of Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection:

• Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection is a chemotherapeutic agent used in the treatment of different types of cancer including ovarian cancer, breast cancer (after surgery or in advanced/spreading state), and non-small cell lung cancer (advanced state). It may be used in combination with other treatments or after other treatments have failed.
• Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection may also be used in the treatment of patients with advanced AIDS (Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome)- related Kaposi’s sarcoma where previous other treatments have not been effective.

Usage direction of Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection:

• Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection is intended for intravenous use only.
• Before administration, dilution is required.
• The Physician will advise the right dose & direction of administration as per the patient’s condition.
• Read accompanying package insert or label instruction before administration.
• Self-administration is strictly prohibited.

Precaution & Related information of Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection:

Precaution should be taken & consult with the physician during the following conditions-

• If hypersensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients of Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection.
• If Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection is to be given for the treatment of Kaposi’s sarcoma in a patient with a history of a serious, uncontrolled infection.
• If have severe heart disease, liver problems or abnormal blood counts.
• If patients are experiencing irregular heartbeats, dizziness or faintness during treatment.
• If this product is to be given to the patient along with radiation treatment (radiotherapy) of the lungs.
• Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection is not recommended for children under 18 years.
• During driving a car or operating machinery, as Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection may cause drowsiness.
• Concomitant administration of this one with other medicine is prohibited.
• Consult with the physician during pregnancy and lactation.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Intaxel 260 mg/43.4 ml Injection:

• Store protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
