About Gmr VM 2.2 Tablet:

Gmr VM 2.2 tablet is a combination of medications, used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Each Gmr VM 2.2 tablet contains Glimepiride 2 mg, Voglibose 0.2 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg (As prolonged-release form).

Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor used for lowering post-prandial blood glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Glimepiride, an antidiabetic sulphonylurea, reduces blood glucose by stimulating the insulin release from pancreatic ß-cells and decreases glucose output from the liver. It also increases insulin sensitivity at peripheral target sites.

Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycaemic agent which improves glucose tolerance by lowering both basal and postprandial plasma glucose. It decreases hepatic glucose production, delays intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity by enhancing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.

Hence, the combination of Glimepiride, Metformin, and Voglibose complements each other and provides better glycemic control in the management of type 2 diabetes and probably in the prevention of its associated macrovascular and microvascular complications.

Use of Gmr VM 2.2 Tablet:

Gmr VM 2.2 tablet is prescribed for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps control high blood glucose levels.

Usage Direction of Gmr VM 2.2 Tablet:

  • Gmr VM 2.2 tablet is intended for oral use only in a dose and direction as advised by the physician.
  • Gmr VM 2.2 tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
  • Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
  • Do not skip or stop the medicine without physician's advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.
