About Gluconorm G2 D Tablet:

Each film-coated bilayered Gluconorm G2 D tablet contains Glimepiride 2 mg, Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg (As sustained release form), Cholecalciferol 400 IU (in stabilized form) and Excipients q.s.

Glimepiride, an antidiabetic sulphonylurea, reduces blood glucose by stimulating the insulin release from pancreatic ß-cells and decreases glucose output from the liver. It also increases insulin sensitivity at peripheral target sites.

Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycaemic agent which improves glucose tolerance by lowering both basal and postprandial plasma glucose. It decreases hepatic glucose production, delays intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity by enhancing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.

Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D) deficiency contributes to both the initial insulin resistance and the subsequent onset of diabetes. It acts to reduce inflammation, which is a major process in inducing insulin resistance, maintains the normal resting levels of both Ca2+ and ROS that are elevated in the ß-cells during diabetes. It also has a very significant role in maintaining the epigenome. Epigenetic alterations are a feature of diabetes by which many diabetes-related genes are inactivated by hypermethylation.

Gluconorm G2 D tablet is a combination medicine prescribed for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps control high blood glucose levels.

Usage Direction of Gluconorm G2 D Tablet:

• Gluconorm G2 D tablet is intended for oral use only in a dose and direction as advised by the physician.
• Gluconorm G2 D tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without physician's advice.
• Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.
