About Glitra M 2 mg Tablet:

Glitra M 2 mg Tablet is a combination of two anti-diabetic medications, used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Each uncoated bilayered Glitra M 2 mg Tablet contains Glimepiride 2 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg (As prolonged-release form).

Glimepiride, an antidiabetic sulphonylurea, reduces blood glucose by stimulating the insulin release from pancreatic ß-cells and decreases glucose output from the liver. It also increases insulin sensitivity at peripheral target sites.

Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycaemic agent which improves glucose tolerance by lowering both basal and postprandial plasma glucose. It decreases hepatic glucose production, delays intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity by enhancing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.

Glitra M 2 mg Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps control high blood glucose levels.

Usage Direction of Glitra M 2 mg Tablet:

• Glitra M 2 mg Tablet is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
• Glitra M 2 mg Tablet is to be taken whole with the help of water.
• Do not break, chew or crush the tablet.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
• Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage.

• Caution: It is dangerous to take this preparation except under medical supervision.
• If hypersensitive or allergic to Glitra M 2 mg Tablet, inform the physician immediately.
