Esopep Capsule Overview:

Esopep Capsule is a combination medicine, used to treat symptoms of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) and related digestive issues, when Esomeprazole alone is not effective enough to manage.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease occurs when stomach acid flows back into the food pipe, leading to heartburn and possible esophageal injury. Esopep Capsule is composed of two main ingredients: Esomeprazole and Domperidone. Esomeprazole reduces stomach acid production, while Domperidone helps improve stomach movement and prevents nausea. Together, they effectively relieve post-prandial symptoms of fullness, bloating, nausea, indigestion, heartburn, stomach pain, peptic ulcers, and other symptoms caused by hyper-acidity.

Composition of Esopep Capsule:

Each hard gelatin Capsule contains Esomeprazole Magnesium Trihydrate equivalent to Esomeprazole (as enteric coated pellets): 40 mg, Domperidone (as sustained release pellets): 30 mg and Excipients q.s.

Brilliant Blue and Tartrazine colours used in empty capsule shell.

Uses and Benefits of Esopep Capsule:

Esopep Capsule is prescribed for the following conditions:

• Provides long-lasting relief from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD/Acid Reflux), where stomach acid backs up into the esophagus, leading to heartburn and irritation.

• Relieves bloating, discomfort, and acid-related indigestion by reducing stomach acid production.

• Reduces heartburn caused by acid reflux.

• Eases gastritis caused by excess stomach acid or Helicobacter pylori bacterial infection.

• Heals Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and peptic ulcer by lowering stomach acid levels.

• Relieves symptoms of acidity and hyperacidity, such as stomach pain, irritation, and discomfort.

How Esopep Capsule works:

Esopep Capsule contains two active ingredients: Esomeprazole and Domperidone, which work together to treat conditions caused by too much stomach acid and improve digestion.

Esomeprazole is a selective Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) that works by blocking the proton pump in the stomach lining, which is responsible for producing gastric acid. By inhibiting this enzyme, it effectively reduces stomach acid production, lowering acidity and helping to treat conditions like GERD, acid reflux, and peptic ulcers.

Domperidone, on the other hand, is a gastro-prokinetic and anti-nausea drug. It works by blocking dopamine receptors in the upper part of the digestive system, helping food move through the stomach and preventing nausea and vomiting.
