About Duphaston 10 mg Tablet:

Duphaston 10 mg tablet is a synthetic progesterone, used for infertility treatment, menstrual cycle regulation, prevention of miscarriage, and other conditions.

Each film-coated Duphaston 10 mg tablet contains Dydrogesterone 10mg and Excipients q.s.

Dydrogesterone is a progestogen which has structures related to progesterone. It works by regulating the healthy growth and normal shedding of the womb lining by acting on progesterone receptors in the uterus.

Use of Duphaston 10 mg Tablet:

Duphaston 10 mg tablet is prescribed for the treatment of female infertility due to luteal insufficiency, irregular menstrual problems, dysmenorrhea, premenstrual syndrome, secondary amenorrhoea, threatened or recurrent miscarriage, endometriosis, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and endometrial protection during menopausal hormonal replacement therapy, etc.

Usage direction of Duphaston 10 mg Tablet:

  • Duphaston 10 mg tablet should be taken orally.
  • Duphaston 10 mg tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
  • Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
  • Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related information of Duphaston 10 mg Tablet:

Do not take Duphaston if you:

  • are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
  • have a known or suspected progestogen dependent neoplasm.
  • have undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
  • are using this medicine to prevent endometrial hyperplasia (abnormal growth of the lining of the uterus), specifically if you are also taking oestrogens.
  • Consult with the physician during pregnancy and lactation.

Special precaution & warning:

  • Before starting treatment with Dydrogesterone because of disfunctional uterine bleeding an organic cause should be excluded.
  • If one of the following disorders occurs during use for the first time or gets worse, stopping the treatment should be considered.

  1. Exceptionally severe headache, migraine or symptoms that may indicate cerebral ischemia.
  2. Marked increase in blood pressure.
  3. Occurrence of venous thromboembolism.

  • In cases of habitual or threatened abortion, the viability of the foetus should be ascertained, and it is necessary to monitor during treatment whether the pregnancy is still progressing and whether the embryo is still alive.
  • Conditions for which monitoring is necessary: It is known that the following rarely occurring conditions may be affected by sex hormones and may arise or get worse during pregnancy or during the use of sex hormones: cholestatic icterus, herpes gestationis, severe pruritus, otosclerosis and porphyria.
  • Patients with a history of depression must be carefully monitored; if severe depression recurs, treatment with Dydrogesterone must be stopped.
  • Other conditions Patients with rare hereditary conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not use this medicinal product.

  • Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
