About Duovir Tablet:

Duovir Tablet is a combination medication, indicated in combination with other antiretrovirals for the treatment of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)-1 infection.

Each film-coated Duovir Tablet contains Lamivudine 150 mg and Zidovudine 300 mg.

Lamivudine and Zidovudine are antiretroviral class of medication.

Lamivudine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. It prevents viral infections by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme HIV reverse transcriptase through DNA chain termination.

Zidovudine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. It prevents viral infections by interfering with the HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme which is required for the replication of the virus.

Use of Duovir Tablet:

Duovir Tablet is prescribed in combination with other antiretrovirals for the treatment of HIV-1 infection.

Usage Direction of Duovir Tablet:

  • Duovir Tablet is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
  • Duovir Tablet is taken whole with the help of water.
  • Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
  • Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Precaution & Related information of Duovir Tablet:

  • Do not take Duovir Tablet if patients are allergic to lamivudine or zidovudine or any of the ingredients in Duovir Tablet.
  • Before taking Duovir Tablet, consult a physician if patients have liver problems, including hepatitis B or C virus infection.
  • Before taking Duovir Tablet, consult with a physician if patients have kidney problems or diabetes.
  • Potentially life-threatening hypersensitivity reactions can occur while receiving Duovir Tablet. Immediately consult with a physician if a skin rash develops.
  • If found any other complications, inform the physician immediately.
  • The physician should be aware of the concomitant use of Duovir Tablet with any other medication.
  • Consult with a physician if patients are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
  • Consult with a physician if patients are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Duovir Tablet:

Store in a cool, dry place.
