Dabigatran Etexilate 110mg
About Dabistar 110 mg Capsule:
Each Dabistar 110 mg capsule contains Dabigatran etexilate mesilate 126.83 mg equivalent to Dabigatran etexilate 110 mg and Excipients q.s.
Dabigatran etexilate belongs to a group of medicines called anticoagulants. It works by blocking a substance in the body which is involved in blood clot formation.
After administration, dabigatran etexilate (pro-drug) is rapidly converted to dabigatran (active drug) by esterase-catalyzed hydrolysis. Dabigatran is a potent, competitive, reversible direct thrombin inhibitor. It prevents the thrombin-mediated conversion of fibrinogen into fibrin during the coagulation cascade, which inhibits the development of thrombus.
Dabigatran also inhibits free thrombin, fibrin-bound thrombin, and thrombin-induced platelet aggregation.
