About Combitide 500 mcg Octacaps:

Combitide 500 mcg octacaps are used to manage asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Each Combitide 500 mcg octacaps capsule contains Salmeterol Xinafoate equivalent to Salmeterol 50 mcg and Fluticasone Propionate 500 mcg.

Salmeterol is an agonist of beta2-adrenergic receptors (found predominantly in bronchial smooth muscle). Beta-2 adrenoceptor stimulation causes relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle, bronchodilation, and increased airflow.

Fluticasone propionate is a synthetic, trifluorinated glucocorticoid with potent anti-inflammatory activity. It exerts its beneficial effects by inhibiting several types of cells and mediators involved in allergic, immune, and inflammatory responses.

Use of Combitide 500 mcg Octacaps:

Combitide 500 mcg octacaps are indicated in the regular treatment of asthma, where the use of a combination (long-acting beta2-agonist and inhaled corticosteroid) has been found to be appropriate, and in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Usage direction of Combitide 500 mcg Octacaps:

• Combitide 500 mcg octacaps are intended for oral inhalation only.

• Before using Combitide 500 mcg octacaps, know the administration process properly from the enclosed leaflet.

• Capsules are intended for use through Octahaler only and are not to be swallowed.

• Keep the container tightly closed.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose.

• Do not discontinue without physician’s advice.
