About Clop Lotion:
Clop Lotion belongs to a group of medicines called steroids and is used to treat various skin conditions.
Each Clop Lotion contains Clobetasol Propionate 0.050% w/v and Lotion Base q.s.
Clobetasol is a very potent topical glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects. It promotes the induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) and subsequently inhibits the liberation of arachidonic acid. Thereby it depresses the formation, discharge, and activity of endogenous chemical mediators of inflammation (e.g. histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins).
Use of Clop Lotion:
Clop Lotion is prescribed for the treatment of various skin problems such as frequently relapsing eczema, an inflammatory manifestation of psoriasis, lichen planus, allergies, corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, and other skin conditions that have not responded to milder steroid creams or ointments. It works by reducing swelling, redness, itchiness of the skin and prevents further irritation.
