About Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup:

Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup is a combination of two antibacterial medicines, indicated for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections in children.

Each twin pack contains:

One bottle of Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate Oral Suspension

Each 5 ml of the reconstituted suspension of Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate equivalent to Amoxycillin 200 mg and Potassium Clavulanate Diluted equivalent to Clavulanic Acid 28.5 mg.

One ampule (FFS) of sterile water for injections 30 ml.

Amoxycillin belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It prevents bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, which is required for the bacteria to grow and multiply.

Clavulanic acid belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It acts by inactivating some beta-lactamase enzymes that are produced by bacteria, thereby, preventing bacteria from destroying Amoxycillin.

Uses of Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup:

Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup is prescribed for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections including lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media (ear infection), sinusitis (sinus infection), skin & skin structure infections, and urinary tract infections in children.

Usage Direction of Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup:

• Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
• Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup is for paediatric use only.
• Tap the bottle to loosen powder.
• Twist to open the ampoule of sterile water given with the pack.
• Add 2/3rd of sterile water into the bottle which contains powder.
• Shake the bottle vigorously.
• Adjust the volume upto the mark by adding more water if required and shake well.
• Allow the suspension to stand for 5 minutes.
• Any extra portion left to be thrown away.
• Shake well before use.
• Please use the measuring cap that comes with the package for accurate measurement.
• Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
• Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage.

Precaution & Related information of Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup:

• Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is hypersensitive to Clamp 228.5 mg Suspension.
• Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is having any other complications.
• The physician should be aware of the concomitant use of Clamp 228.5 mg Suspension with any other medication.
• Content to be consumed within 7 days.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Clamp 228.5 mg Syrup:

Store protected from light & moisture, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

After reconstitution:

Store the reconstituted suspension in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C.
