About Avil Injection:

Avil Injection is an antihistamine medication used to treat various allergic conditions. It is also indicated for the prophylaxis of motion sickness.

Each ml of Avil Injection contains Pheniramine Maleate 22.75 mg and Water for injections q.s.

Pheniramine is an antihistamine class of drug. It competes with histamine for the histamine H1 receptor, acting as an inverse agonist once bound. The reduction in H1 receptor activity is responsible for reduced edema, itching, and redness thus suppressing the allergic symptoms.

Use of Avil Injection:

Avil Injection is an anti-allergic medication prescribed for the treatment of the following conditions:

• Allergic conditions including hay fever, drug rashes, angioneurotic oedema, serum sickness, allergic conjunctivitis, food allergy, etc.
• Conditions of the respiratory tract that are accompanied by increased secretion, including Vasomotor rhinitis and acute rhinitis.
• All itching skin conditions, including neurodermatitis, eczema of any origin, lichen planus, acute and chronic urticaria, pruritis of the anus or genitals, pruritus in icterus and diabetes, radiation Sickness, etc.
• Symptoms of motion sickness.
• Nausea, vomiting and vertigo due to Menière’s disease and other labyrinthine disturbances.

Usage direction of Avil Injection:

• Avil Injection is intended for Intramuscular or slow Intravenous injection only.
• The Physician will advise the right dose & direction of administration as per the patient’s condition.
• Read enclosed leaflet or label instruction before administration.
• Self-administration is strictly prohibited.
• It is dangerous to take this preparation except under medical supervision.

Precaution & Related information of Avil Injection:

Precaution and physician’s consultation should be taken during the following conditions-

• If hypersensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients of Avil Injection.
• If the patient has symptomatic hypertrophy or is receiving Monoamine oxidase inhibitor therapy.
• During driving a car or operating machinery, as Avil Injection may cause drowsiness.
• Simultaneous ingestion of alcohol and other central nervous system depressants are not advisable.
• It is not intended for use in newborn and premature infants.
• Concomitant administration of this one with other medicine is prohibited.
• Consult with the physician during pregnancy and lactation.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Avil Injection:

• Store protected from light.
