About Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet:

Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet is a combination medicine, indicated for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections.

Each film-coated Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate equivalent to Amoxycillin 875 mg and Potassium Clavulanate Diluted equivalent to Clavulanic Acid 125 mg and Lactic Acid Bacillus 60 million spores (Appropriate overages of Lactic Acid Bacillus spores added).

Amoxycillin belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It prevents bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, which is required for the bacteria to grow and multiply.

Clavulanic acid belongs to a class of antibacterial medicines. It acts by inactivating some beta-lactamase enzymes that are produced by bacteria, thereby, preventing bacteria from destroying Amoxycillin.

Lactic Acid Bacillus is a probiotic. It maintains the balance of friendly bacteria in the digestive tract.

Uses of Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet:

Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of various susceptible bacterial infections including:

  • Lower respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, empyema)
  • Sinusitis, otitis media, recurrent tonsillitis
  • Skin & skin structure infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Intra-abdominal infections, peritonitis, pre-operative prophylaxis, post-surgical infections
  • Non-invasive childhood diseases, perforated appendicitis
  • In mixed infections caused by ampicillin-susceptible organisms and beta-lactamase-producing organisms susceptible to amoxycillin and clavulanate potassium.

Usage Direction of Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet:

  • Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet is intended for oral use only, in a dose and direction as prescribed by the physician.
  • Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet is to be taken whole with the help of water.
  • Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
  • Do not skip or stop the medicine without the physician’s advice.
  • Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage.

Precaution & Related information of Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet:

  • Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is hypersensitive to Augpen LB BID 1 gm Tablet.
  • Inform the physician immediately, if the patient is having any other complications.
