About Amiodon 150 mg/3 ml Injection:

Amiodon 150 mg/3 ml Injection is an anti-arrhythmic medication, used to treat various types of arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat).

Each ml contains Amiodarone Hydrochloride 50 mg, Benzyl alcohol 2% v/v (as preservative) and water for injection q.s.

Amiodarone is considered a class III antiarrhythmic drug. It blocks potassium currents that cause repolarization of the heart muscle during the third phase of the cardiac action potential. As a result, amiodarone increases the duration of the action potential as well as the effective refractory period for cardiac cells (myocytes). Therefore, cardiac muscle cell excitability is reduced, preventing and treating abnormal heart rhythms.
Amiodarone also interferes with the functioning of beta-adrenergic receptors, sodium channels, and calcium channels.

Use of Amiodon 150 mg/3 ml Injection:

Amiodon 150 mg /3 ml Injection is prescribed for the treatment of:

• Atrial arrhythmia, with rapid ventricular rhythm.
• Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome tachycardia.
• Documented symptomatic and incapacitating ventricular arrhythmia.
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the event of cardiac arrest related to ventricular fibrillation resistant to external electric shock.

Amiodon 150 mg /3 ml Injection can be used where a rapid response is required or an oral administration is not appropriate.

Usage direction of Amiodon 150 mg/3 ml Injection:

• Amiodon 150 mg/3 ml Injection is intended for intravenous infusion use.
• For dosage and administration please check the package leaflet or label instruction.
• Amiodon 150 mg/3 ml Injection is given under the supervision of the physician. Kindly do not self-administer.
• The solution must be diluted with Glucose intravenous infusion.
• Dispose the needle after use.

Precaution & Related information of Amiodon 150 mg/3 ml Injection:

• Not for use in newborns.
• If allergic to Amiodon 150 mg/3 ml Injection, inform the physician immediately.
• If find any other complication inform the physician immediately.
• Consult with the physician during pregnancy & lactation.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Store below 30°C. Protect from light. Do not freeze.
