Altacef Suspension 30 ml

About Altacef Suspension:

Altacef Suspension is an antibiotic, used for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infection.

Each 5 ml of reconstituted suspension contains Cefuroxime Axetil equivalent to Anhydrous Cefuroxime 125 mg in a flavoured base q.s.

Cefuroxime is a beta-lactam antibiotic, which inhibits bacterial cell wall biosynthesis by binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), thus arresting cell wall assembly resulting in bacterial cell death.

Use of Altacef Suspension:

Altacef Suspension is prescribed for the treatment of many different types of bacterial infections such as bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, ear infections, gonorrhea, urinary tract infections, skin & soft tissue infections, etc.

Usage direction of Altacef Suspension:

• Altacef Suspension is intended for oral use only.
• Please check the package leaflet or label instruction before administration.
• Altacef Suspension should be reconstituted in sterile water for injection.
• Shake well before use.
• Do not stop or skip the medicine without physician’s advice.
• Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.

Direction for reconstitution:

• Shake the bottle well to loosen the powder.
• Use enclosed sterile water supplied with this pack to reconstitute the powder up to the ring mark on the bottle.
• Store the reconstituted suspension in refrigerator when not in use.
• Use the reconstituted suspension within 7 days.

• For paediatric use only.
• If allergic to this medicine, inform the physician immediately.
• If find any other complication inform the physician immediately.
• Sterile water not to be used, if ampoule is found leaking or solution is not clear.
• Keep all medicines out of reach of children.

Storage condition of Altacef Suspension:

Store in well-closed container at controlled room temperature. Do not freeze.
