About Alfatam D Tablet:
Alfatam D Tablet is a combination medicine, indicated to treat signs and symptoms of the enlarged prostate gland in men.
Each uncoated bilayered tablet contains Tamsulosin Hydrochloride (as modified release) 0.4 mg, Dutasteride 0.5 mg.
Tamsulosin belongs to a class of alpha-blockers. By relaxing the smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, it improves urine flow, thereby, suppressing the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Dutasteride belongs to a class of antiandrogen medicines. It acts by decreasing the levels of a certain natural hormone (dihydrotestosterone) in the body, responsible for causing enlargement of the prostate gland.
